Carlos Mencia

The video is hilarious and very true to its score. Carlos Mencia is a funny comedian which as his own show on comedy Central. His show is based on making fun of other cultures to the exaggerated levels. I have occasionally seen his show and at times i laugh, knowing that if some heard it, it might be taken offensively. Sometimes, he comes off too strong and think whether he is able to say that. I know that people from these races have had a extremely hard past but i personally believe that if its been a while and that it shouldn't be taken offensively. I enjoy his show because it is funny and takes people's perspective to another level. I at times, i am made fun of for being Colombian and asked whether my family smuggled cocaine and drugs into the country but I joke back and its harmless fun. Since he is Hispanic, I remember him talking on his show once about the way he was raised and the things his Hispanic parents did that I remember my own parents doing. I personally don't take any of his material serious because that is what comedians do... make people laugh. Other things he mentions in his shows include from races to illness to sexuality. I really can not see why people would take this to the heart, yeah I may react at times but i take it as harmless words and laugh. If it bothers you, DON'T WATCH THE SHOW! Simple as that. The show has its moments and my younger brother loves it. Now, of course I make sure that I get the point across to my little brother that no matter how funny it may be to him, it could hurt someone if he says it. In the end, people have to be open minded, less sensitive and make fun of themselves for being smart, stupid, ugly or sexy, anything because if you can't accept yourself for who you are, then anything said will bother you.
